Role Summary:
As a Finance Project Officer, you will be integral to the financial oversight and management of infrastructure initiatives. Your expertise will support financial transactions, costing, procurement, and project administration, ensuring efficient project execution. Your contributions are essential for maintaining the department's financial integrity through precise tracking and adherence to compliance standards.
Key Duties:
- Execute financial and timesheet transactions, oversee daily costing, and manage revenue claims for projects using SAP R/3.
- Assess the financial status of projects, ensuring correct cost distribution, and alert management to any discrepancies.
- Generate monthly and ad-hoc financial reports to monitor project financial health and overall progress.
- Request and oversee the supply of goods and services to ensure seamless project operations. Address routine supplier issues and manage inventory.
- Provide guidance and support on financial administration and costing to project teams.
- Verify employee timesheets for accuracy in allowances and entitlements, ensuring correct payroll processing.
- Deliver general administrative support to project teams to facilitate successful project outcomes.
- Maintain governance and ethical standards in all financial and administrative responsibilities.
- Commit to Workplace Health & Safety principles, striving for a Zero Harm environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in financial roles related to civil infrastructure projects.
- Proficient computer skills with a capacity to quickly adapt to new software.
- Strong background in finance and project costing.
- Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative mindset.
- Availability to commence work within a week.
Successful candidates will ideally be based in the Sunshine Coast area. Experience within a government department or local council is highly valued.
