Job Overview

At our recycling facility, we are seeking a highly motivated and proactive leader to help drive growth and success.

The Assistant Depot Manager will play a key role in leading by example, assisting with product collection and management, ensuring accurate sorting and placement of products, working with customers, and maintaining a safe working environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused individual who is passionate about the recycling industry and wants to make a meaningful contribution to our team's success.

  • Assist with the collection and management of all product that enters the depot
  • Ensure that product that is sorted accurately and placed in bulker bags (heavy lifting required)
  • Transport bulker bags to the relevant storage area
  • Work with customers on a daily basis, assisting them to sort their containers either manually or via the alchemy machines
  • Ensure all customers that come through the depot feel important and valued
  • Ensure that the customer experience received inspires returning customers
  • Weekly reporting on performance and health and safety in the depot to head office to ensure transparency
  • Monitor the KPIs produced by the depot to identify problem areas and establish new procedures to improve efficiency
  • Ensure that staff have the skills and training to work safely and efficiently
  • Regularly check the workplace for hazards and report any faults/risks for repair

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Experience working in a warehouse/storage facility
  • Forklift license desirable (or willingness to obtain)
  • A current driver's license is essential
