We have an opportunity for a skilled Machine Technician to join our Visy PET team based in Sydney, working Monday to Friday. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining blow moulding machines to ensure high-quality plastic products meet customer requirements.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and calibrating blow moulding machines according to specifications.
  • Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and reporting foreseeable issues.
  • Monitoring, inspecting, and adjusting machine settings to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and conduct quality checks on finished products.
  • Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production targets.
  • Maintaining accurate production records and reporting discrepancies or issues.
  • Ensuring all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

To succeed in this role, you will have a minimum of 5 years' experience operating machinery in a high-speed manufacturing environment. PET processing/operating blow moulding machinery experience is highly advantageous. You will be a reliable team player with a strong work ethic, self-motivated, and proactive approach. Additionally, you should possess:

  • A high level of mechanical aptitude, with a trade background being a bonus.
  • Experience operating a forklift and holding a current forklift license is essential.
  • Blow Moulding machinery experience.
  • Quality control and defect analysis skills, with good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
