A highly skilled SQL Database Administrator is required to lead our team in the design, implementation and maintenance of SQL Server environments on-premise and in AWS.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with expertise in SQL Server 2016 and above, as well as experience in migrating and managing databases in AWS (RDS, EC2-hosted SQL etc.).

Key responsibilities include ensuring high availability and disaster recovery configurations, monitoring and tuning database performance using native and third-party tools, developing and implementing database backup strategies and recovery plans.

Collaboration with DevOps and application teams is essential to support CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, managing and optimising Snowflake data warehouses in a production environment.

The role requires:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL DBA in production environments
  • Strong experience with AWS RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch and related services
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell and database performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake in a production environment (data loading, performance tuning, role-based access etc.)
  • Experience with backup/recovery tools and strategies
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar)
  • Knowledge of database security best practices

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL in AWS
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure/AWS Solutions Architect
  • Exposure to containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
