Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented database professional to manage our data infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade database software such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others.
  • Design and maintain database structures, schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
  • Monitor database performance, implement tuning strategies, and optimize queries.
  • Ensure data security, integrity, and availability through user access controls, encryption, and compliance standards.
  • Perform database backups, disaster recovery planning, and failover testing.
  • Troubleshoot database issues, resolve outages, and provide timely support.
  • Collaborate with developers to optimize application performance and support database-related development tasks.
  • Implement data replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.
  • Maintain documentation of database systems, processes, and policies.
  • Stay updated with emerging database technologies, cloud database services, and best practices.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with major database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of database design, normalization, indexing, and optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge of backup/recovery methods, replication, and high availability (HA/DR) solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL is an advantage.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Oracle Enterprise Manager etc.
  • Solid understanding of security practices including access controls and compliance such as GDPR, HIPAA etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
