Postdoctoral Research Fellow Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative postdoctoral research fellow to join an exciting project, the IVF Support Study. This Australia-first project is investigating the emotions and coping strategies of patients during an in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment cycle.

As part of this role, you will be primarily involved in analysing the quantitative survey data gathered from patients during treatment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful research that directly supports the wellbeing of people navigating fertility treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-quality research, including data collection, analysis, and preparation of publications in leading academic journals.
  • Analyse longitudinal survey data, using various advanced statistical analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate on grant applications and contribute to securing research funding.
  • Contribute to the supervision and mentoring of research students, where appropriate.
  • Actively participate in academic citizenship, including service roles, committee involvement, and community or industry engagement.

About You:

  • Completion or near completion of a PhD in psychology, epidemiology, or public health.
  • Demonstrated experience analysing longitudinal quantitative data. Some experience with analysing qualitative data would be an advantage.
  • Evidence of publications in reputable refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.
  • Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities.
  • An understanding of fertility treatment in Australia would be highly regarded (e.g., in vitro fertilisation).

Benefits:

  • Base salary in the range $82,057 - $109,000.
  • 17.5% annual leave loading.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid on-site/remote options and flexible start/end times.
