Job Overview

The Teachers' Retirement System serves active and retired teachers and educators, administering their pension plan and providing various benefits. This includes payment of retirement benefits, collection of member contributions, and enrollment of new members.

We pride ourselves in prioritizing our members' needs and being available to meet with them one-on-one, offering training opportunities to enhance their skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in all areas of the retired payroll process, encompassing three payroll processes per month.
  • Communicate retirement program information to retirees.
  • Support payroll processing with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

Potential for taking on additional responsibilities as the organization grows.

Requirements

An Associate's degree in business, accounting, or a related field; two years of experience in payroll, retirement/benefits, disability claims, or accounting; or alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Competencies

Familiarity with payroll database systems and accounting principles and practices is essential.
