We are seeking a skilled Speech Therapist to join our team in this permanent, full-time role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career and work as a valued member of the multidisciplinary teams across the hospital.
As a Speech Therapist at this hospital, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare setting and make a meaningful impact on the well-being of our patients. You will be well supported in the role, working as part of the team, with access to clinical supervision and mentoring to develop your clinical skills and your career.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other Speech Therapists across the district at other hospital sites.
- Job Description: Assess, diagnose, and treat adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and diagnoses of adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to address the needs of adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing disorders.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.

Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Demonstrated core competency skills in managing patients with dysphagia and communication disorders.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery.
- Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience.
- Computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
- Current Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
