Job Opportunity for Train Drivers

We are currently seeking talented and dedicated individuals to operate locomotives and provide operational support. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and experience.

Casual Qualified Locomotive Drivers at our depot will be responsible for operating trains in a safe and efficient manner, conducting shunting operations, examining trains, and preparing locomotives for operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate locomotives safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct shunting operations at yards, depots, and sidings, including brake and continuity tests.
  • Prepare, stabilize, turn, and assemble locomotives.
  • Carry out roll-by inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair minor on-road faults and refer major issues to specialist staff.
  • Operate communications equipment and prepare documentation associated with train operations.
  • Drive motor vehicles as required.

This role offers the opportunity to work with highly advanced technology and rolling stock in the Hunter Valley coal operations.

Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Train Driving.
  • Familiarity with safe working procedures in a railway environment.
  • A commitment to following rules and operating safely.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • High concentration levels.
  • Desirable: qualification in Train Orders for the network.
