Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Expert to maintain the continuous availability and optimal performance of our DB2 databases in a high-availability, enterprise-scale environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular administrative tasks, collaborating with development and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents, and ensuring the health and performance of DB2 databases supporting critical batch operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the health and performance of DB2 databases to ensure seamless execution of business-critical batch operations
  • Conduct regular backups, restores, user access management, patching, and version upgrades to prevent data loss and downtime
  • Monitor system health and resource usage to identify and address performance issues proactively
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents affecting batch workflows efficiently
  • Design and deploy database structures such as tables, indexes, and stored procedures for new or updated applications
  • Implement robust security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and ensure adherence to compliance standards effectively

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience managing DB2 databases in a high-availability, enterprise-scale environment
  • Solid understanding of batch processing systems and their integration with database platforms
  • Strong skills in performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies, user access controls, and patch management
  • Knowledge of data security standards and compliance requirements
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
