We are seeking a skilled and experienced School Psychologist Consultant to join our team. As a key member of the Service Response branch, you will work closely with schools, regions, and other stakeholders to provide expert services and psychological advice.
You will be responsible for facilitating collaboration between lead school psychologists, schools, regions, and Statewide Services as well as external agencies in supporting the development of specific intervention programs for students with complex educational needs.
This role offers state-wide experience and the opportunity to influence systems-level change through cross-agency collaboration, policy development, implementation, and evaluation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- A valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
- A current Working with Children Check
- Completed training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
As a School Psychologist Consultant, you will work flexibly and cooperatively within a diverse and skilled team, building strong working relationships by regularly communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
RequirementsTo be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights
- Hold general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing specialist consultation, evidence-based assessment, and interventions that contribute to system-level understandings
- Developing and evaluating contemporary approaches and interventions
- Communicating complex concepts, providing feedback, and critical evaluation of the management of complex and challenging issues
- Building capacity, influencing systemic policy, and undertaking interventions and prevention programs
