Job Opportunity: School Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team at Alkimos Primary School. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing school psychology services and programs to maximise student learning outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to make a meaningful contribution to the education sector and work collaboratively with school leadership, students, and parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement evidence-based school psychology services and programs to promote academic achievement and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate closely with school leadership and Student Services team to ensure seamless delivery of support services.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and consultation.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to teachers and other staff members on mental health and wellbeing initiatives.
Requirements
  • Hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting.
Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group, and system-level intervention.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
