Job Opportunity for a Dedicated Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to take on a new challenge in their career. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public practice accounting, with a focus on client relationships and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of SME and high-net-worth clients across diverse industries.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, annual reports, income tax returns, BAS, and IAS for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies, and SMSF's.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, STP, superannuation, WorkCover, and payroll tax obligations.
  • Assist with tax planning, structuring, and interim financial statements.
  • Advising on Div 7A, CGT, FBT, and SMSF matters.
  • Preparing workpapers and journals.
  • Building strong client relationships and liaising directly with business owners.
  • Collaborating with the team to deliver on deadlines and exceed client expectations.
  • Taking ownership of your own client list while contributing to training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reviewing and maintaining client files in Xero.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years' experience in public practice accounting (Australian experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in Xero, Xero Tax, and MYOB.
  • Experience with Xero Practice Manager and CLASS Super (advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple client files.
  • A proactive, positive approach with eagerness to learn and grow.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or currently completing) highly regarded.
