About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Estimator to join our estimating team due to significant growth in our business, particularly in the water sector.

As an Estimator, you will work closely with our pre-contracts team to evaluate and estimate tenders for projects ranging in value, size, and complexity.

You will be responsible for developing a first principle estimate for both direct costs and site overhead costs, as well as mentoring and training Graduate Engineers to assist with estimating tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review tender documents for scope of works, contract requirements, and alternative design options.
  • Assess the risks and opportunities in the construction of the project, including identifying a winning edge.
  • Oversee and/or prepare construction programs.
  • Mentor and train Graduate Engineers to assist with estimating tasks.

Requirements:

  • Proven estimating experience in processing plants/heavy mechanical plants.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop construction methodology and programs.
  • Willingness to maintain/develop associations with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors within the industrial construction space.
  • Previous experience with Expert Estimation or Cats software is advantageous.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
