About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Duratec Australia. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering accurate cost estimates for major construction projects across Australia.

With a strong background in engineering and resource industries, you will have the ability to develop innovative, environmentally sustainable solutions and approaches within the overall estimate. Your experience in Mechanical, Piping, Fuel, and Infrastructure sectors will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates, including cost escalation analysis
  • Compile accurate material quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantities
  • Support the preparation and development of construction methodologies, programs, and submission documentation
  • Develop estimates from first principles using site productivity rates
  • Construction of tender programs
  • Identify the need for additional information or clarification through RFIs to ensure complete tender documents
  • Review designs and engineering specifications for cost effectiveness
  • Review and validate subcontractor pricing across all service disciplines
  • Deliver detailed tenders with traceability and provide support for pre-contracts and delivery
  • Coordinate team activities and conduct tender cost estimate review meetings
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships
About You

We are looking for a proactive and adaptable individual with a strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines. You will have:

  • Experience in engineering and resource industries
  • First principal experience with pricing internal labour to complete work scopes
  • Prior experience in Mechanical, Piping, Fuel, Infrastructure sector, construction, process and non-process infrastructure, and water/wastewater treatment (preferred)
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • Request additional information via RFIs to complete tender documents
  • Interpersonal skills, confident, professional and self-motivated
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalent
