Job Description

We are seeking an experienced financial accounting expert to join our team in a permanent position. The role offers a part-time or full-time opportunity in the heart of Newcastle CBD. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for a varied and hands-on role that includes transactional duties, reporting, and process improvement.

About the Opportunity

This is a challenging role that requires a proactive approach to improving financial controls, supporting audits, and enhancing processes. You will work closely with the Finance Business Partner to deliver timely and accurate financial services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and lodge BAS and manage other tax-related tasks.
  • Complete bank and general ledger reconciliations, financial journals, and credit card acquittals.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and annual statutory accounts.
  • Develop and implement financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A degree in Accounting or Business (or currently working towards one).
  • A current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Minimum one year experience in a hands-on, transactional accounting role.
