Job Description

As an Electrical Design Engineer at SEGULA Technologies, you'll be an integral part of our Electrical Design Engineering team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality electrical design solutions, resolving technical issues, and implementing design changes.
  • Designing improvements for maintenance, modification, and fleet modification projects for rolling stock.
  • Preparing technical electrical design deliverables, including system block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and 3D panel assemblies.
  • Ensuring designs meet customer and regulatory requirements through complete engineering documentation and quality assurance activities.
  • Supporting the organizational culture of flexibility and comradery while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Considering safety during engineering design changes.
  • Exploring alternative and creative solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Delivering to customer expectations and service standards in timeliness, information transfer, availability, and reliability.

Requirements

We're looking for individuals with:

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design.
  • Proven experience with 3D modeling and drafting (electrical only).
  • Proven experience with life cycle extension, wiring harness design, upgrades, circuit designs, overhauls, and refurbishment for existing products or brown field projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex design components to all levels of the business.
  • Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of rolling stock-related industries.

Software Skills

We're looking for individuals with experience in:

  • Siemens NX or CATIA (electrical package).
  • AutoCAD (electrical package experience or Elecdes).
  • Team Centre.

Qualifications

We're looking for individuals with:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant tertiary qualification with extensive rolling stock or alternative energy experience.
  • CPEng or relevant membership to an engineering body.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.

Additional Information

This position would be preferably based in Brisbane, QLD, or New South Wales. Applicants must be willing to relocate if successful. Please note that all successful applicants must be Australian citizens or hold applicable Australian working visas.
