Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

SEGULA Technologies is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Brisbane QLD or New South Wales. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical designs for rolling stock projects, including system block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, 3D panel assemblies, and installation and wiring harness drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for rolling stock projects, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare electrical production drawings and complete engineering documentation to support design implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, applying knowledge to improve design processes and outcomes.
  • Deliver designs that meet customer expectations and service standards, in terms of timeliness, information transfer, availability, and reliability.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design, with a focus on 3D modelling and drafting.
  • Proven experience with Life cycle extension, wiring harness design, upgrades, circuit designs, overhauls, and refurbishment for existing products or brown field projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex design components to all levels of the business.
  • Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of rolling stock related industry.

Software Skills:

  • Siemens NX or CATIA (Electrical package) is desirable.
  • Ideal experience with AutoCAD (Electrical package) or Elecdes.
  • Experience with Team Centre.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant tertiary qualification with extensive rolling stock or alternative energy experience.
  • CPEng or relevant membership to engineering body highly regarded.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent will be highly regarded.
