
Culture and Community Advocate

This is a career opportunity to work with an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation, supporting and advocating for the Aboriginal community.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting culture and self-determination to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in an Out of Home Care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated commitment to the values that underpin the organisation's vision and purpose
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, along with awareness of the key issues impacting upon Aboriginal communities, and a commitment to continually build knowledge in this area
- Experience working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children
- Growing knowledge and/or lived experience of Child Protection and out of home care systems
Requirements:
- Valid Police Check
- Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain)
- Victorian Driver Licence
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
