Role Overview

This is a career opportunity to work with an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation, supporting and advocating for the Aboriginal community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting culture and self-determination to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in an Out of Home Care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the values that underpin the organisation's vision and purpose
  • Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, along with awareness of the key issues impacting upon Aboriginal communities, and a commitment to continually build knowledge in this area
  • Experience working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children
  • Growing knowledge and/or lived experience of Child Protection and out of home care systems

Requirements:

  • Valid Police Check
  • Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain)
  • Victorian Driver Licence
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
