About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Explosive Ordnance Licensing Officer to join our team at the Directorate of Logistics – Explosive Ordnance. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe storage and handling of explosives across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures related to the safe storage and handling of guided weapons and explosive ordnance for Defence.
  • Conduct research and produce licences and risk assessments for explosive facilities in accordance with Defence policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders providing subject matter advice on behalf of the Licensing Authority.
  • Occasionally travel to Defence Bases and Establishments across Australia to conduct licensing reviews.
About Our Team

The Directorate of Logistics – Explosive Ordnance is responsible for the national storage and distribution of explosive ordnance for the ADF. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the safe and secure handling of explosives, and we are looking for a highly skilled individual to join our team.

Requirements
  • Experience interpreting and applying policy and procedures.
  • High attention to detail and well-developed communication skills.
  • Contemporary understanding of Dangerous Goods safety and management practices as they apply to explosives.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage own workload.
  • High level of computer literacy, with experience in Microsoft Office Suite essential.
