Short-Term Forecasting Specialist

A key role exists in our organisation to deliver high-quality data, systems, training, and operational planning advice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the short-term forecasts that feed into key operational and market systems.

These forecasts are essential for supporting network outage planning, reliability assessments, and real-time decision-making across the short-term horizon.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our Operational Forecasting team and expand its capability to keep up with the complexity of forecasting an increasingly weather-dependent power system.

  • Manage forecasting models for electricity demand, rooftop PV, grid-scale solar farms, and wind farms.
  • Work closely with our weather providers and control rooms to translate weather risks into system impacts.
  • Coordinate across teams and markets to align tools, data, and forecasting processes between different regions.
  • Contribute energy and weather information and insights into operational advisories, power system incident reviews, and market reports.
  • Support upgrades of forecasting applications to improve their performance and reliability.
