Emergency Department Support Professional

The role of an Emergency Department Social Worker is pivotal in providing holistic care, assessment and intervention for patients with complex psychosocial needs.
This position requires a dynamic individual to work collaboratively with clinicians within the emergency department to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Candidates will provide targeted support, including grief, loss and bereavement assistance, within a multi-disciplinary framework.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing assessment and brief intervention services to patients with complex needs;
- Working closely with ED clinicians to address child and family risk issues;
- Developing and implementing practical support strategies for patients and their families;
Fundamental Qualifications:
This position requires a strong foundation in social work principles, with qualifications in Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy and a passion for delivering patient-centered care.
