Conservation Project Manager

This is a unique opportunity to combine project leadership, research coordination, and on-ground conservation delivery to make a tangible difference to biodiversity outcomes in NSW.

The successful candidate will have the ability to lead complex projects that support the conservation of NSW's natural environment, flora, fauna, and Aboriginal heritage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate ground shooting operations
  • Lead research into innovative control methods such as aerial baiting
  • Secure necessary permits and approvals
  • Engage with stakeholders and communities
  • Chair the Project Control Group
  • Maintain rigorous data management and reporting systems

About You: We are looking for a confident, organised, and hands-on leader who can balance strategy with action by planning, problem-solving, engaging stakeholders, and inspiring their team to achieve meaningful conservation outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You should possess strong research and operational experience, and have the ability to keep complex projects moving forward. A science background and knowledge of NSW's environmental policies would be advantageous.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to make daily decisions that keep projects on time and delivering results.
