Energy Transition Specialist

The role of Energy Transition Specialist involves working closely with energy project developers, investors, financiers, innovators and key public sector stakeholders to drive the transition to a sustainable, green future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies for energy sector transactions that align with client objectives while responding to evolving market conditions.
  • Manage engagement teams to undertake acquisitions or disposals of energy projects, portfolios or businesses, working with integrated developers, infrastructure and private equity investors, financiers and strategic corporate buyers on the sellside or buyside.
  • Collaboratively coordinate and lead execution aspects of energy transactions encompassing origination ideas and proposals, crafting bid strategy and documentation, managing due diligence processes, performing valuation assessments, undertaking capital structuring and managing transactions through negotiation to completion.
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance issues specific to the energy sector underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of the intersection of public and private sector organisations undertaking projects and programs in the energy transition.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a transaction role within an advisory environment.
  • Adept at working independently as well as collaboratively with senior stakeholders across multiple engagements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in M&A, project and corporate finance structuring, deep knowledge of energy market fundamentals, relevant technologies, supply chains, public policy implications and general project development challenges and opportunities.
  • A strong desire to make a difference in decarbonising the economy with evident passion for the energy sector.
