Mine Operations Specialist

Mine geologists are crucial in ensuring the accurate delineation of ore bodies and efficient grade control activities. In this position, you will work alongside the mining contractor's team to supervise daily drilling programs, manage geological data, and support the delivery of high-quality ore to the processing plant.
Key responsibilities include conducting daily grade control drilling programs to ensure timely delivery of ore to processing, monitoring and analyzing geological data to accurately delineate ore and waste, collaborating closely with mine planning and operations teams to ensure alignment between geological models and operational needs, working on field mapping, ore spotting, and waste delineation to ensure safe and efficient operations, ensuring quality control for ore and waste material, and assisting in the management of geological data, reporting, and tracking to maintain high data accuracy.
Requirements and Qualifications- Tertiary qualification in Geology or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in grade control and mine geology, preferably in iron ore, is necessary.
- Experience with geological software (DataMine, Micromine, or similar) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of ore body models, grade control principles, and drilling design is essential.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment with a focus on safety is critical.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and data sharing are required.
