As a seasoned professional, you will provide technical leadership, delivering impactful projects while being supported by a collaborative, technically competent, and forward-thinking team.

  • Manage teams of consultants across different geographies, leveraging experience from previous roles to drive project success.
  • Plan and deliver geotechnical site investigations for tailings projects, interpreting field and laboratory testing results to inform slope stability assessments.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of local and global tailings standards and guidelines, including ANCOLD ICOLD GISTM and CDA.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills to craft compelling technical reports and presentations.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of growth and excellence within the organization.
  • Oversee large multidisciplinary projects, applying expertise to drive business growth and resourcing requirements.
  • Contribute to regional business planning, assessing risk opportunities and resource needs.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and ensuring long-term partnerships.
  • Travel interstate to engage with the team face-to-face, promoting collaboration and open communication.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 10 years of experience in tailings engineering, including consultancy work, with tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical / Civil / Mining Engineering.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and leading complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
