Job Description:

The Assistant Director, Digital Operations Specialist will work closely with our digital architecture, security, ICT, Enterprise Service Management, business systems, and vendors to provide cross-domain consultancy on project or BAU related activities impacting ICT services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing insights, advice, and support in the design and implementation of effective, consistent architectures for the ICT environment.
  • Guiding ICT programs, projects, and BAU improvements to ensure alignment with our broader digital strategy and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Providing subject matter expertise and guidance on complex infrastructure and related service challenges.
  • Drawing up proposals for recommended solutions to ensure future investment in ICT systems and process support.
  • Driving operational performance outcomes that contribute to achieving our ICT Operations section goals.
  • Oversight of root cause analysis and problem rectification activities.
  • Fostering a culture that drives high performance, collaboration, agility, and accountability in delivering ICT services.
  • Modeling and promoting a strong risk management focus in line with technology and governance frameworks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Understanding of Essential 8/PSPF in relation to Government regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, domain, and Azure Administration.
  • Experience in leading work through Scrum and related project frameworks.
  • Experience in creating and developing technical documentation, including architecture and system designs.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage competing demands, with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and change management skills.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including negotiation and influence.
  • Understand and actively demonstrate the APS Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Industry-related qualifications or certifications.
