About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable WHS Manager to lead our safety strategy and execution, ensuring safe workplaces and minimizing injuries. The successful candidate will develop and implement a long-term safety roadmap, drive a strong safety culture, and oversee the management of workplace injury cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive safety strategy and roadmap to reduce risk and promote a culture of mindful safety
  • Communicate and engage the workforce in the safety program, expectations, and benefits
  • Drive a strong safety culture that permeates all levels of the organization, ensuring employees, residents, and families understand its importance
  • Develop and implement safety initiatives that create a positive environment for staff and contribute to eliminating work-related injuries and operational incidents
  • Oversee the management of workplace injury cases, including associated compensation, rehabilitation, and return to work provisions
  • Review decisions, timeframes, and complaints related to the management of claims
  • Escalate significant events to the CEO/CPO/Board and relevant regulatory body as required
  • Develop and maintain a risk register and manage the program of work to reduce risk across the business
  • Ensure all WHS policies reflect current regulations
  • Ensure the WHS team are educated and well-versed in all relevant WHS legislation and workers compensation law
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators
  • Analyze data trends and metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving safety performance
  • Develop and deliver WHS training programs for all levels of staff
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in OHS
  • NDIS Worker Screening Endorsement (or ability to acquire)
  • National Police Check
