We are seeking an experienced Sterilization and Instrumentation Specialist to join our dynamic perioperative team on either a full time or part time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our sterilization department, ensuring all instrumentation is properly cleaned, disinfected, packaged and sterilized in accordance with AS/NZ standards 4187 2014 and GENCA.

You will also be required to operate, interpret and document all machinery operational requirements, as well as report and document all quality activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Thermal disinfection inspection, packaging and sterilizing of all instrumentation for theatre and other clinical areas
  • Compliance with AS/NZ standards 4187 2014 and GENCA
  • Operation, interpretation and documentation of all machinery operational requirements
  • Reporting and documentation of all quality activities
  • Ensuring priority of instrumentation and processes
About Us

Brisbane Private Hospital is a 181 bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 17 operating theatres conveniently located above the Roma Street Parklands.

We offer a range of specialties including neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, Rehabilitation and general surgery.

We also deliver Brisbane's leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Health Services.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from $28.41 per hour to $34.37 per hour, plus superannuation.

Essential Criteria:
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZ 4187 2014
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation
  • Experience with tracking systems
  • Endoscopy reprocessing experience or willingness to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various database
  • An interest in promoting best practice patient care
