About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Operational Readiness Specialist to join our Renewable Energy team at Rio Tinto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of operational readiness processes, practices, and tools to support the integration of renewable energy projects into our power system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the application of the operational readiness framework throughout the full lifecycle for all REWA projects.
  • Successfully integrate each project from study into operation, through effective organisational change management and thorough stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop plans, build strong relationships, identify success factors, and prepare each project to deliver in line with the investment business case.
  • Contribute to the operating philosophy for large-scale renewables and coordinate operations input into design reviews, commissioning, and compliance validation phases.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation, and improvement using lessons learnt from other projects.
About You
  • You will have an innovative mindset with proven operational readiness practitioner, project management, or organisational change management experience.
  • You will possess clear and concise communication skills with the ability to lead, build, and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the business and influence multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in power system development or renewable energy will be advantageous.
