This is an exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal role in shaping the university's data-driven strategy. As the Data Governance Technical Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and leading a comprehensive data governance framework.

This includes defining data standards, stewardship models, and governance structures that align with institutional goals and compliance requirements. The position leads efforts to improve data quality and consistency across systems such as student information systems (SIS), HR and Identity platforms.

You will implement processes for data cataloguing, lineage tracking, metadata management, and automation-driven data quality improvement using tools like Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS). You will also ensure that data privacy and security policies are aligned with regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and master data management (MDM).

  • Expertise with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), including Data Quality, Catalog etc.
  • Proficiency in data profiling, lineage tracking, cataloguing, and business glossary creation.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations relevant to higher education.

You will lead cross-functional working groups and facilitate consensus among stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to interpret complex data flows and integration patterns are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for engaging with business and IT leaders.

Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate governance insights is highly desirable. A proven track record of implementing governance tools (preferably Informatica) in a cloud or hybrid environment is necessary.

A minimum of 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles is required. At least 5+ years of experience leading data governance or integration initiatives in a complex enterprise or university setting is necessary.

Demonstrated experience establishing and tracking Data Quality Metrics (DQMs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and data health dashboards is required. Experience in training or mentoring staff and faculty on data governance policies, tools, and practices is highly desirable.
