Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sales Engineer to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY AUSTRALIA PTY LTD. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the Market Manager in marketing and sales activities, and implementing HV Business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and quotations for High Voltage products to customers.
  • Develop a tendering strategy based on market intelligence and in-house experience and expertise.
  • Interpret substation single line diagrams, substation layouts, bills of material, specifications, and other relevant documents for bid preparation.
  • Engage with customers to learn and understand the drivers influencing their specifications.
  • Gather business and market intelligence to assist with sales strategy.
  • Assist in monitoring the market and trends in the industry to develop and identify future customers and opportunities for HITACHI ENERGY.
  • Proactively look for new areas in or new applications for the local market that HITACHI ENERGY can target and grow its customer base.
  • Understand how HITACHI ENERGY products and service offerings can provide value to customers and conduct product and market analysis for the existing customer base.
  • Apply the "Customer Care Response Process" when necessary, and close collaboration with the factory to provide solutions or remedies to customers.
  • Support management with analysis and reporting of Sales Force Dot Com (SFDC) data for leads and opportunities management, customer contact activity, and pipeline.
  • Identify partnership opportunities and participate in the definition of partnership agreements or joint ventures.
  • Take care of personal health, safety, and environment (HSE) and comply with business standards and regulations in the Country in the area of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with all related internal local and global contacts to ensure alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness in the implementation of the respective local business strategy.
  • Support management with developing appropriate relationships with customers and key accounts, in line with the sales team strategy.
  • Closely collaborate with the product feeder factories project managers for project execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of electrical engineer experience.
  • Exposure to medium/large-scale market analysis projects and strategic plans.
  • Understanding of contract law.
  • Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc.).
  • Knowledge of electrical and automation technologies/industries.
  • Familiarity with the New Zealand Electricity grid (desired).
  • Knowledge of New Zealand Electricity services markets (desired).
  • A working knowledge of SAP.
