Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety programs, providing expert advice and coaching to executive leaders and health safety committees, and monitoring and reporting on safety system performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement health and safety programs to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to executive leaders and health safety committees on safety system performance, risk profiling, and achievement reporting.
  • Monitor and report on safety system performance against targets and project outcomes.
  • Investigate and respond to hazards, injuries, and incidents, improving safety outcomes.
  • Develop and promote the company's safety system, including audits and safety improvement projects.
  • Coordinate the company's participation in internal and external audits.
  • Promote safety capability in leaders for effective hazard and risk management.
  • Collaborate with leaders and workers to mitigate health, safety, and wellbeing risks.
  • Review and improve health and safety policies and practices.
  • Ensure health and safety system integrity, governance, risk management, training, and reporting.
  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner is a driven and experienced professional who is passionate about promoting proactive teamwork and collaboration within their direct team and the broader business unit. They will apply their advanced interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships, inspire and influence others, and facilitate a collective drive for optimal safety outcomes and practices.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Experience in health and safety management systems, incident investigations, policy development, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to motivate teams, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability in providing health, safety, and wellbeing advisory services.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
  • Tertiary qualification in health and safety management, health science, psychology, risk management, or related discipline.
  • Right to work in Australia.
  • SAPOL Criminal history check.
