Role Overview

The role of a Teacher Librarian is pivotal in transforming the school library into a vibrant and welcoming space for learning. This position will be central to our educational teams, collaborating with leadership, classroom teachers, support staff, students, and the wider community.

This dynamic educator will lead the development of our school library into a modern learning hub, fostering a culture of innovation and improvement in individual student learning and pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to make the school library a hub for learning, creativity, and exploration.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy skills into curriculum design.
  • Maintain a comprehensive collection of resources, both physical and digital, to support student research and learning needs.
  • Design and deliver instructional programs that promote critical thinking, creativity, and information literacy skills.
Eligibility Criteria
  • A minimum of four years of full-time tertiary study leading to a recognized teaching qualification.
  • Current full teaching registration with the relevant teaching authority or eligibility for registration.
  • A current registration under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011.
