Nurse Unit Manager Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our team at Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service.
About the RoleThis is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a passionate and experienced nurse to take their clinical knowledge and skills to the next level. As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high standards of patient care and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate nursing and multidisciplinary team activities, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
- Accept accountability for nursing practices and multidisciplinary outcomes, addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.
- Drive team performance and enhance a supportive work culture focused on patient-centered care.
- Implement and promote consumer engagement initiatives while leading change management processes.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practicing certificate.
- At least 3 years post-registration experience, with demonstrated competence in relevant nursing/midwifery practices.
- Effective leadership skills, including exceptional communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation abilities.
- Experience in management roles, including supervising students and less experienced nurses/midwives.
- Familiarity with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of healthcare legislation and standards.
