Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated PDHPE Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for educating and inspiring high school students in the areas of personal development, health, and physical education.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the NSW PDHPE syllabus and be able to deliver engaging and inclusive instruction. They will also have excellent classroom management skills, be able to create a positive and disciplined learning environment, and ensure the physical and emotional safety of students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering lessons that promote healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and overall wellbeing.
  • Developing and implementing new health and physical activity programs tailored to student needs.
  • Conducting risk assessments for physical education activities and sporting events.
  • Maintaining and inspecting sports equipment and facilities for safety compliance.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a Christ-like example in the College, exercising Christian servant leadership with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.

They will also be required to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and adapt their teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Education with a major in PDHPE and hold the appropriate NESA accreditation.
  • Professional experience in completion of supervised teaching practicums during the ITE program, providing hands-on experience in teaching PDHPE.
  • Strong understanding of the NSW PDHPE syllabus, effective lesson planning, and ability to deliver engaging and inclusive instruction.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, ability to create a positive and disciplined learning environment, and ensure the physical and emotional safety of students.
