Our team seeks a Health and Safety Specialist to provide expertise in Perth.
About the Role
As a key member, you will ensure compliance with local legislative requirements while driving health and safety performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer comprehensive health and safety advice to management and staff.
- Collaborate with line organizations to monitor, review, and enhance health and safety performance.
- Manage key health and safety initiatives and projects.
- Conduct health and safety audits, ensuring documentation and corrective actions are addressed.
- Lead teams on various health and safety projects and activities within the department.
- Establish a network of health and safety contacts across the organization, attending regular forums for consistency and resource optimization.
- Provide expert support during incident investigations and assist in developing preventive measures.
- Develop and deliver training programs tailored to meet operations needs and comply with legislative standards.
- Stay updated on company and legislative standards, providing guidance to ensure compliance and develop relevant procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in providing health and safety advice within a mining or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislative requirements and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in conducting audits, investigations, and delivering training programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Relevant certifications such as Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (desirable).
