Job Overview:

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager role involves working as a responsible and effective team member to assist in the overall clinical management of an Oncology Ward.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise nursing practice and take responsibility for delivering high-quality patient care
  • Initiate reviews and coordinate care for patients with complex health issues
  • Act as a patient advocate, protecting their rights and safety at all times
  • Contribute to developing clinical policies and procedures in the area of specialty
  • Participate in educating other caregivers through formal and informal teaching sessions

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Extensive clinical experience in Oncology
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, along with knowledge of relevant acts and legislation
  • Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with nursing, medical, and interdisciplinary teams
