Job Role

Fitter (Diesel)

We are seeking an experienced Fitter to join our local Maintenance Team in Toowoomba, Queensland.

The ideal candidate will work a Monday to Friday roster with occasional weekends and site support.

The successful candidate will perform tasks across our fleet of equipment, assist with loading and unloading, and undertake smaller ad hoc jobs.

  • Service and repairs of all equipment
  • Rebuilds and overhauls
  • Creation of new equipment, building, and assembly
  • Conducting daily prestart meetings and filling out JHAs as required
  • Guiding and sharing information with the team of fitters as required
  • Travel to worksites if needed

About the Job

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, from routine maintenance to complex repairs.

You will be responsible for servicing and repairing equipment, as well as assisting with loading and unloading tasks.

Occasional travel to worksites may be required.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Heavy vehicle and earthmoving experience (preferred)
  • Good understanding of scan & diagnostic tools for both aftermarket suppliers and OEMs
  • Understanding of hydraulic & electrical systems and repairs
  • Welding and fabrication skills (valuable)
  • Ability to manage, locate, and order stock/spare parts
  • Ability to work unsupervised on the task
  • Ability to be creative and work outside normal tasks with repairs on specialized equipment

About You

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, able to work independently, and has excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy vehicle and earthmoving experience, with a good understanding of scan & diagnostic tools.

A strong understanding of hydraulic & electrical systems and repairs is also essential.

In addition, welding and fabrication skills would be highly valued.
