Advanced Clinical Leadership Role

This position involves providing advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices across a large hospital network. The key responsibilities include ensuring compliance to AS5369 Standard across all departments, including Central Sterilising Departments, endoscopy services, oral health services, cardiac investigations, maternity services, and other areas that use and reprocess reusable medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical advice and guidance on reprocessing of reusable medical devices.
  • Maintain and improve current practices to ensure compliance with AS5369 Standard.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for reprocessing of reusable medical devices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of reprocessing practices across departments.
Requirements:
  • Current nursing registration through a recognised health regulatory agency.
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation from an approved training organisation or equivalent.
  • Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australasia (GENCA) endoscopy reprocessing training or willingness to undertake and complete requirements upon commencement.
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment from an approved training organisation or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience working in an Infection Prevention and Control senior nursing role.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Credentialed status with a reputable infection control credentialing body or willingness to undertake and complete requirements.
  • Working knowledge of software packages used in clinical and management environments.
