Clinical Nurse Specialists are highly skilled professionals who provide expert advice on nursing care and practice. We seek a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Central Queensland.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a qualified nurse to contribute their expertise to our health service. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical leadership and expertise in reprocessing of reusable medical devices across our health service.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. They will also have a thorough understanding of current infection prevention and control principles.
You will be expected to maintain compliance with relevant standards, including AS5369, and ensure that all staff adhere to these guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert guidance on infection prevention and control principles
- Maintaining compliance with relevant standards, including AS5369
- Developing policies, procedures, and guidelines related to reprocessing and sterilisation practices
- Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements
- Current nursing registration through AHPRA
- Certificate III in Sterilisation or equivalent
- GENCA endoscopy reprocessing training or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment or equivalent
- Extensive experience working in Infection Prevention and Control senior nursing role
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control
- Credentialed status with the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements
