Academic Role in Small Animal Clinical Studies
We are seeking an accomplished academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Small Animal Clinical Studies. This is a key position that plays a pivotal role in providing exceptional teaching and clinical service at the Melbourne Veterinary School.
The successful candidate will contribute to the education and learning of veterinary students, particularly in the area of small animal diagnostic imaging.
This role involves delivering teaching content, developing and conducting tutorials and workshops, and providing clinical teaching during student rotations.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality teaching and training content to all years of the DVM, with a focus on DVM4
- Participating in professional development provided by external educational providers to achieve required skills and knowledge
- Making independent and innovative contributions to teaching and learning at all levels of the DVM
- Working flexibly across clinical disciplines to provide support for DVM4 workplace integrated learning
- Delivering teaching and assessment in various settings, including tutorials, lectures, practical demonstrations, and laboratory-based workshops
- Providing excellent veterinary services to patients and clients, ensuring high-quality clinical services
The ideal candidate must have expertise in clinical professional practice, experience in scholarly activities, and a strong track record of impactful publications or other scholarly outputs.
They should also possess an awarded Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, or equivalent veterinary degree registrable in Victoria, with at least two years of relevant experience as a veterinarian.
A post-graduate clinical qualification, or progress towards one, in veterinary diagnostic imaging is also essential.
Additionally, applicants should demonstrate tertiary level teaching experience, a scholarly approach to teaching, and experience in small animal veterinary clinical practice.

- Veterinary degree registrable in Victoria
- Relevant experience as a veterinarian (at least 2 years)
- Post-graduate clinical qualification in veterinary diagnostic imaging
