Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project management strategies to ensure successful delivery of capital works projects
  • Lead a team of project managers to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, community groups, and external partners to ensure effective project delivery
  • Manage complex contracts and negotiate with contractors to achieve the best possible outcomes for the Council and its community
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community groups, contractors, and internal departments
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in a capital works or infrastructure environment
  • Strong technical background in project management, with a formal qualification in engineering, architecture, construction, project management, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage complex contracts and negotiate with contractors
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and stakeholders
