Senior Procurement and Contract Management Business Partner

The Senior Procurement & Contract Management Business Partner is responsible for providing expert advice and assistance to staff on procurement, tendering, and contract management procedures. This includes overseeing contract activities to ensure compliance and effective risk mitigation.
Key responsibilities include enhancing contract processes through collaboration with stakeholders, utilizing analytical skills to identify and mitigate risks, and developing contract management intelligence to drive continuous improvements. This informs strategic decision-making and optimal outcomes in the field of contract management.
As a senior leader in the Procurement & Contracts Unit, this role will provide direction and specialist advice on a range of contractual issues related to the acquisition of goods and services. This includes ensuring Council meets all its statutory obligations in respect to procurement.
Key skills and experience required include understanding and knowledge of public sector/local government procurement policy and practices, well-developed commercial/business acumen, and experience in a procurement and contracting environment. Additionally, the ability to provide training and present to groups of staff, as well as analytical and investigative skills to promote the principles of risk management as applied to contract management, are essential.
