We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to join our team.

  • Analyze and interpret building plans to ensure accurate execution of construction projects.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, creating structures using various materials while maintaining health and safety standards.
  • Record and document work accurately to meet compliance requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret building plans and determine materials required for each project.
  • Erect restricted height scaffolding safely to minimize risks.
  • Create and maintain structures, walls, foundations, and other elements using blocks, tiles, boards, and stone.
  • Lay bricks in rows, designs, and shapes, spreading mortar between joints.
  • Embed blocks in mortar and remove excess mortar to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Strengthen and seal foundations with damp-resistant materials to prevent water damage.
  • Fasten bricks with wire clamps or cement to secure them in place.
  • Repair building blocks to extend their lifespan.
  • Manage material quantities for each job to optimize resource utilization.
  • Use tools like hand tools, brick-cutting machines, spirit levels, and plumb lines to check building alignment and ensure accuracy.
  • Work safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights to prevent accidents.
  • Operate equipment and tools effectively for basic construction tasks to streamline the workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the work undertaken to facilitate easy reference.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed codes, legislation, and procedures, including health and safety standards to protect employees and clients.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III/IV in Bricklaying or equivalent qualification to demonstrate expertise.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in bricklaying to guarantee proficiency.
