Job Title:

Maintenance Craftsman

Job Description Summary:

A skilled craftsman is required to work on various commercial construction projects across a range of sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in building maintenance and be able to read and interpret technical documents.

Key Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and other materials for construction purposes.
- Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, and hardware.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals and trades to complete projects efficiently.

Qualifications:

- Relevant Trade Qualification / experience in building maintenance type skills with minimum 5 years' experience.
- Proven experience as a craftsman in commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered tools, hand tools etc).
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
