Business Development Manager

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and developing our distributor customer base and business partners across Eastern Victoria.

The role involves promoting and developing end-user business across all relevant market sectors, identifying opportunities for new product launches, and implementing strategic 12-month call plans. This position requires regional travel including overnight stays to effectively service the territory and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Territory & Account Management: Develop distributor partnerships, implement 12-month call plans, monitor sales performance against targets, manage territory databases, and service key accounts and buying groups professionally.
  • Business Development: Identify new product opportunities, develop end-user business, increase market share, conduct joint sales calls with distributors, and follow up on generated leads.
  • Field Operations: Attend trade shows and industry events, conduct product training, maintain marketing displays, inspect products, ensure optimal use of catalogues and cooperative advertising, and approve new accounts.
  • Reporting & Collaboration: Submit regular reports to Regional Manager, participate in sales meetings and planning sessions, collaborate with national sales teams, and provide market intelligence.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven business development and relationship management experience with distributor networks.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales and customer service excellence.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and travel extensively throughout Eastern Victoria.
  • Understanding of automotive and industrial lubrication markets would be an advantage.
  • Well-developed business acumen with a customer focus.
  • Ability to multi-task while seeing projects through to completion.
  • Can work autonomously or in a collaborative environment.
  • Detail focussed with the ability to turn business opportunities into tangible results.
  • Ambitious, adaptable, and motivated by growth and continuous learning.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Professional approach to expense management and ethical business practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
