About this role
Our Mornington Home is seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Care Worker to join our part-time team. This rewarding role involves working under the guidance of Registered Nurses to assist residents with daily living activities, enhancing their well-being and quality of life.
The Personal Care Worker will be part of an integrated team of professionals who work within an agreed clinical care framework to provide personalized care to our residents. This vital role ensures we maintain high-quality care and a high quality of life for our residents at all times.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting residents in living the life they choose by allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
- Contribute to the overall quality of life of our residents, including physical, emotional, and lifestyle interests.
- Implementing clinical and care interventions delegated by the Registered Nurses, as documented in the residents' care plan.
- Assisting residents with personal care needs while encouraging independence.
- Prioritizing workloads effectively and delivering care with dignity and compassion.
- Providing care to our residents with respect, kindness, and patience.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience with Aged Care Quality Standards and Quality of Care Principles.
- A genuine interest in elderly care and the desire to improve the lives of our residents.
- Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support.
- Effective communication skills.
- Reliability to work to a roster with set shifts and basic computer skills.
- Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control.
- Previous work experience within the aged care sector is preferred but not essential.
- NDIS clearance and Proof of Right to Work.
