The role of arborist contributes to the safe and sustainable management of trees in the local environment.
This position aligns with industry best practices, Australian Standards (AS4373), and council policies.
- Assessing tree permit applications
- Responding to service requests
- Conducting tree risk assessments
- Maintaining records in the inventory system
The role requires both independent work and collaboration as part of a team, ensuring the care and management of public and private tree assets across the area.
RequirementsWe are seeking an individual with relevant tertiary qualifications in arboriculture or currently undertaking AQF5 certification.
Additionally, we require:
- Class C Driver's Licence
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Extensive knowledge and experience in assessing tree health and structural condition
- Experience in identifying trees, pests, diseases, and mechanical/structural faults
- Experience in risk management related to trees (TRAQ)
- Experience in public consultation and conflict resolution
- Ability to create accurate, clear, concise, and timely reports
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Understanding and commitment to WHS practices and EEO principles
- Commitment to customer service
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
