Arborist Job Summary

The role of an Arborist involves the care and maintenance of trees to ensure their health, safety, and aesthetic appeal. This position requires a profound understanding of tree species, growth patterns, and specific care requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planting trees at designated properties
  • Maintenance of trees, including pruning, fertilization, weed management, disease, and insect control
  • Maintenance of irrigation systems on farm properties
  • Training and supervision of employees
  • Ordering materials and supplies required for tree maintenance
  • Ensuring chemical handling and first aid training are up-to-date
  • Waste management and recycling of trees
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Profound knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and specific care requirements
  • Skill in safely and effectively pruning and trimming trees
  • Ability to assess tree health, diagnose diseases and pest infestations, and recommend treatments
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols, including proper use of equipment, hazard identification, and risk management
  • Understanding of ecological considerations, conservation principles, and regulations related to tree preservation
Essential Attributes & Qualifications:
  • Physical fitness to handle demands of climbing trees, operating heavy equipment, and performing strenuous tasks
  • High level of safety awareness and adherence to safety guidelines
  • Effective communication abilities to interact with clients, colleagues, and the public
  • Capacity to analyze tree-related issues, make informed decisions, and develop innovative solutions
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience as an Arborist
